The everyday supports that make a real difference.
Core Supports are the funded items in your NDIS plan that help with everyday living — personal care, community access, life skills, transport and complex daily needs — delivered by one team that knows you.
What are NDIS Core Supports?
Core Supports are one of three main budgets in an NDIS plan (alongside Capacity Building and Capital). They fund the practical, day-to-day help that keeps life moving — the supports you rely on every week, not just occasionally.
At Ruhil Care, Core Supports are delivered person-centred: your goals, routines, culture and preferences shape every visit. Whether you need help getting ready in the morning, building confidence in the community, learning life skills or managing complex health needs, we match the right workers and coordinate care so your plan stretches further.
Many participants combine two or three Core support types — for example personal care on weekday mornings, community participation on weekends and life-skills coaching to build independence over time.

Your NDIS plan may include one or more of these Core support categories. We help you understand what's funded and how to use it effectively.

Common questions about Core Supports
What is the difference between Core Supports and Capacity Building?+
Core Supports fund everyday help you need now — personal care, community access, transport and domestic tasks. Capacity Building funds supports that build your skills and independence over time, such as life-skills coaching, therapy and support coordination. Many participants have both budgets in their plan.
Do I need an approved NDIS plan to access Core Supports?+
Yes — to use NDIS-funded Core Supports you'll need an active plan with funding in the relevant Core support category. If you're still waiting on approval or planning your first plan, our team can talk you through what to ask for at your planning meeting.
Can I combine multiple Core support types?+
Absolutely. Most participants use a mix — for example personal care on weekday mornings, community participation on weekends and life-skills sessions to build independence. We help you map your plan against a sample week so funding is used effectively.
Can I choose my own support worker?+
Yes. We match workers based on your interests, language, gender preference, cultural background and routine. You can meet your worker before supports begin and request a change at any time — no awkward conversations needed.
How quickly can Core Supports start?+
Personal care, community participation and life skills can often begin within 7-14 days of your first conversation. High-intensity supports may need a short clinical assessment and care-plan setup before the first shift — we'll be upfront about timelines.
How much do Core Supports cost?+
Every service is charged at the NDIS price limit for the relevant support item — no hidden fees. See our price guide for common rates, or ask for a personalised estimate based on your plan and weekly schedule.
